Amana Behavior Therapy and Consulting was founded to address the need for trauma-informed behavior therapy services within the Deaf Community.
As a company run by Deaf and hard of hearing practitioners, Amana is committed to provided care that is culturally competent, accessible and kind.
Zaineb Abdulla, MS.Ed, BCBA
Zaineb Abdulla, Amana’s Founder and primary practitioner, is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) specializing in the co-morbidities of deafness and trauma. In addition to the BCBA credential, Zaineb is also certified as a Clinical Child and Family Trauma Specialist. She currently provides behavior analytic services to children in foster care, Deaf children with various neurodivergences and adults with special needs, both Deaf and hearing, living in group home settings.
Additionally, Zaineb runs Deaf Defy, an international NGO that provides services to Deaf children living in refugee camps and areas of conflict throughout the Middle East.
When she’s not working, Zaineb enjoys martial arts, biking, writing and compulsive coffee drinking.

Amana provides services to both children and adults with autism, ADHD, ODD, developmental disabilities and various neurodivergences. In person services are limited to the Chicagoland area. Remote services are available throughout the US.

Therapy sessions can look very different, depending on the needs and preferences of the person being served. Most sessions fall into one of three categories: at-home skills practice, in-office (or in-coffee shop!) talk therapy or in-community outings.

Our goal is to empower our clients to become their happiest and most independent selves! To accomplish this goal, we focus on reducing the patterns of behavior that cause harm while increasing relevant skill sets.
